MODIANO, Victor February 17, 1925 – May 17, 2015 Born in the Bronx, New York, Victor Modiano died peacefully at home in Sherman Oaks, CA at age 90. He attended PS 93 – Bronx, and went to Radio City Music Hall as often as he could scrape together the price of a ticket. Moving with the family to California after WWII, he was a movie extra, went to LA City College, and helped form the Modiano Construction Co. with his older brothers, Richard and Frank. He was a terrific handball player. An avid basketball fan, he has been thrilled and disappointed over the decades by the Lakers. He enjoyed traveling with friends, attending the Hollywood Bowl, seeing countless movies, and big band music. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Doris, their daughter Susie, sons Michael and Steven, nieces Lynn, Dale, and Sandra, son in laws Jason Tallent and Russ Sobel, daughter in laws Dalia and Janelle, brother and sister in laws Stuart and Barbara Klabin, nephew Kenny, nieces Joann, Julie, and Karen; grandchildren, Serling, Edie, Danielle, Tamir and Elan, and many close friends. We all will miss him dearly. Victor is remembered as a loving husband and father, a devoted friend, a charming deal-maker, and a champion ‘crazy gin’ player. He considered himself lucky, and he was.
