January 3, 1928 – May 3, 2017 Sally Ann Frank Gumbiner passed away at 89 of congestive heart failure. Born in New York City, the daughter of Edith (Shapiro) and Samuel Frank and sister of Peter Frank (deceased). She graduated from Beverly Hills High School and attended the University of Southern California where she was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. Married Marshall Gumbiner (deceased) in 1951 and enjoyed 60 years of wedded bliss. Active civic leader serving as PTA President of every school her daughters attended, and involved in civic and philanthropic groups, including Hadassah, Town & Gown of USC. Hobbies included bridge, beaded flowers, knitting, and needlepointing. Greatest moments spent nurturing her children and babysitting her grandchildren – sometimes all ten at once! Attended every event, and applauded every achievement. The ultimate grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law. Survived by daughters, Valerie (Aaron) Weiss, Victoria (Herman) Waller, and Vivian Gumbiner (Herb Perlmutter); grandchildren, Adam (Meredith), Alan, Andrew, Aileen and Alden Weiss, Eric, Elyse and Ellen Perlmutter-Gumbiner, Samantha (TJ) Waltz, and Alicia Waller; great-grandchildren Makenzie and Peyton Waltz, and Joseph Weiss. Service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills. In lieu of flowers, gifts to Hadassah Southern California, Town and Gown of USC, or to a charity of your choice .
