I had let my colleagues know of Rod's passing. Only one decided to post. I had worked for Rod as Northeast Regional Manager with Price Pfister in the early 90's after Black and Decker bought them. I had competed with many other qualified applicants in the plumbing industry to get job. I got the job. It was my dream job. Up until that time I had never been fired from a job. At that time I reported to Wally Kudlaty who had been with the company for 7 years. We had a great relationship for almost 2 years. But Rod decided to demote Wally. Then he decided to hire a new Wholesale Manager from a company I previously worked for knowing we didn't get along. The new employee Mike Smith decided to fire me after 3 months on the job. I begged Rod for my job because I had a wife and 3 little girls to feed. He didn't budge despite numerous calls from my reps. Eventually all mentioned above lost their jobs or were asked to resign. Rod decided to go with Delta faucets and fire the reps in southern California and set Mike up in his rep business. Wow! In the meantime, I wallowed around from job to job never finding stable employment, lost my marriage and claimed bankruptcy. Thanks Rod for the memories.
