Richard Nielsen

Richard Harvey Nielsen, born February 8, 1926 in Bringham City, Utah to Louis Nielsen a miner & Rose Hansen, housewife. Richard served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II.
In 1947 Richard married Frances & the couple soon welcomed two sons, Dennis & Randy into the world. Richard & Frances shared a successful life raising their sons & enjoying adventurous travel. Tragically Frances was stricken with cancer and an eleven year battle ensued as Richard stood by his wife’s side until the end. From this chapter of his life Richard is preceded in death by his 1st wife Frances; survived by sons Dennis & fiancé Yvonne, Randy & wife Debbie; grandchidren Rebecca & husband Raymond, Jennifer, Ryan, Kimberly & great grandchildren Evan, Kadin & Kinsley.
Adding to his family, in 1989 Richard married Eleanor & the two began their sweet, loving journey of dancing their nights away, having their own special table at their favorite restaurants were everyone knew their name, enjoying their combined family at picnics & get-togethers & many, many, MANY Laughlin trips. From this chapter Richard is survived by his loving & devoted wife Eleanor or as they would call each other, “my sweetheart”, “my love”, “my darling”. He is preceded in death by stepson Ernie; survived by stepson’s Chuck, Art & wife Nica; stepdaughter Vicky; grandchildren Jon & wife Wendy, Brandy, Jake & wife Linda, Amber, Jesse & Orion; great grandchildren Ian & Isabella.
Richard loved & respected his parents & siblings very much, always having kind words & special stories to share about them. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis & Rose; his sister LaPreal, brother Leland; brother-in-laws Al & Roy; sister-in-law Dot; survived by his Sister Fae; brother Jack & sister-in-law Estela; brother Ron & sister-in-law Zaida, sister-in-law Renate & many, many nieces & nephews that he loved very much.
Richard shared true love with two wonderful women in his life, which is testament to the wonderful, loving man he was. RIP Richard, we love you.
Memorial service will be on Wednesday 13th at 10:00am; Mt. Sinai 5950 Forrest Lawn Dr. Los Angeles, Ca. 90068.
