Maurice (Murray) Krieger was born in Brooklyn, New York, May 4, 1928.
Murray was a man who always enjoyed automotive work. As a kid, he worked in his brother’s gas station, until he joined the U.S. Navy (1946-1948). He served on light cruisers, the Portsmouth, and Fargo, as Machinist Mate, and travelled the world.
In 1948, he married the love of his life, Renee Greenfield, and by 1951, he had his own gas station in Astoria, New York.
Together, in 1953, they moved with their two children, Lois and Steven, to California, where he continued to work in the automotive field as a mechanic, gas station owner, and owner of Crestview Service Center, which has served four generations of families. He was always ready to help repair things for others.
Murray was President of the Creston-Help Youth Foundation (an organization of businessmen dedicated to helping children in need). An avid golfer, he became president of the Braemar Country Club Men’s Club. In his retirement, he played with, and managed a team in the Culver City Senior’s softball league.
Murray is survived by his son, Steven Krieger and daughter-in law Gail Krieger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Renee Krieger, daughter, Lois Graver, and son-in law Michael Graver. Murray is also survived by four grandchildren, Danielle Newman, Brian Graver, Wesley Krieger, Katherine Herman, five great grand children, and nieces and nephews.
