There are friends and then there are friends that are "family". Marcia was part of our family for many years. I was 12 when she, her mom and Tommy moved to our apartment building. I remember spending birthdays, Holidays and other special events together; as well as going school clothes and food shopping . She was a very intelligent person with a sense of humor. I remember when my son was born, we didn't have much money and she purchased the stroller, not just any stroller, this was "cream of the crop". When my sister needed a place to have an engagement party, she opened her house where she lived in the Valley at that time; and through my mom's divorce and in need of a new vehicle, Marcia insisted on giving my mom a loan instead of high interest rate loan somewhere else. These are just some of the things that make her memory special. RIP Marcia.

As I thought about Marcia this afternoon the realization that she had shared every major moment in my life for the past 40 years suddenly overwhelmed me. She was there for my wedding, the births of my 3 children, the deaths of my sister and parents. It also occurred to me that many of the memories seemed to center around food, and usually too much of it! ๐ One of my favorite wedding anniversary memories is Marcia bringing champagne to my mom's house where she, our friend Diane and I drank champagne and toasted 18 years of marriage. I was still in California while my husband and children had moved to Nebraska in July! Marcia made it a fun anniversary for me anyway! ๐ She was a very special friend, whose memory I will always carry in my heart. I was blessed to have known her. Rest in Peace Marcia.
