John has been leave us for weeks, I still cannot believe he is left. John is not only my step father, my family, but also my teacher and friend. He was so talented, so charming, so smart. He was care about my mom Jing very much. He taught me and my husband a lot every time we met, from the etiquette of eating at a traditional American restaurant, to how to deal with American friends. He is so successful, the man who has impressive learning skills I have ever seen. We will never forget the time we spent together. In New Orland, he told us the amazing stories about his childhood. In a restaurant named”Moonlight”, we were talking and listening the sound from sea wave, how beautiful! At the Disneyland, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Hollywood bowl… there were too many moments to remember. He always has a sense of humor, even face to cancer; he was so brave, strong, polite and respectful. We are proud of him, not only for his astonishing intellectual communication skills and amazing succeed in business, but also for the kind, soft and lovely heart he has, he really care about his family, he really does. Even though we could not participate in his funeral, thanks so much we can leave the words here , me and Qing, my daughter Sarah and Rachael, John should be remembered by us all forever. There is a poem I want to put here, I borrowed from internet, just for you, John: If tears could build a stairway” If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane. I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, No time to say "Goodbye". You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you - No one can ever know. But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more; To remember all the happy times life still has much in store. Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today~ A hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay. Farewell John, farewell step father, farewell the one we loved so much.

I'd like to correct the typo mistake from my posted message, "sister-in-law" should be "brother-in-law". Sorry for the mistake. ------ Jade

I would like to say a few words about my sister-in-law John Maquar. He was a hard-working, intelligent, caring and very thoughtful person. He loved his wife and family members so much and was very close to his friends. He always lived his life to the fullest and loved to smile even though after he got cancer. He influenced my life in positive attitude to life. I will miss him with all of my heart.

What a beautiful testimony by all the speakers. As I listened to all of them, I was able to relieve many of the experiences shared by this great father, husband, friend, associate and brother. Links to the depths of John were opened to share, remember, and love about this much loved and loving man. We each knew him as we related to him and the memories shared by others brought back past times we all shared together. He was a very diverse man and his love for and of life seemed to wring every bit of every situation and circumstance he encountered. Listening to the accolades has given me a new perspective on life and our responsibility to live and be all we can be. I know John did, and he can rest knowing he did it his way, loving living, enjoying, growing, reaching for the next adventure over the hill. God bless and love you John. I know He does and so do we. Love you baby brother ~~ Joan
