Chapter One
Married to Harmon Ballin for 32 years. Mother to Joel David (Anna) Ballin, Daniel Mark (Joey Skelton) Ballin, and Matthew Abraham (Pam) Ballin. Beloved Aunt to Morris Kenneth Fields, Alex Fields and Erica Bennett. Daughter of Harry and Dorothy Fields. Sister of Fred Fields. Jan earned from the University of Southern California her degree in Master of Social Work June 8, 1978. She was a licensed clinical social worker by the State of California April 28, 1982. She received an honorary doctor degree from Hebrew Union College May 19, 2003. She served the community over 30 years of service to the clients of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles. She retired in the year 2000.
Chapter Two
Married Jules Rothman February 18, 1996. Stepmother to Laurie (Tom) Morrison and Pam (Scott) Waite. Beloved Bubba Jan to Kelly, Owen, and Mallory Morrison, Nicholas and Joshua Waite, Gadi Itai and Nina Ballin, Michael and James Ballin, and Emily and Hanna Ballin.
Funeral will be held at Mt. Sinai 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Hollywood Hills Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 12:30pm.
Janis died of heart failure with complications from Alzheimers.
