Obituary
Goldie (Gail) Chamow of Carmichael, CA, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 (7 AV, 5778) at age 88. Gail was born Goldie Shless in Chicago, IL, on August 23, 1929, as the youngest of four daughters to Orthodox Jewish parents. She married Daniel Chamow in 1959 and was a homemaker and mother of four children in Los Angeles. She loved bowling and bridge, traveling with her husband, and did volunteer work for ORT. In 1984, she and Daniel moved to Sun City West, AZ, and upon Daniel’s death in 2005, Gail moved to Roseville, CA and Carmichael, CA. Gail is survived by her sons, Richard “Dick”; Larry (Susan) and Steven (Judy) and daughter, Renee (Michael Schaffer); eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, at 2:00 PM in the Mount Sinai Chapel at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. Burial will follow at Mount Sinai Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gail’s memory to Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (http://www.hadassah.org) or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (https://www.aspca.org). Arrangements are under the direction of Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA.
