Gloria Barbara Katzman, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on December 17, 2022, in Gig Harbor, Washington. She was born in Seattle, and lived in Tacoma as a child and young adult. She moved to Los Angeles, California in the summer of 1965 where she later was married to Mark Katzman (divorced) and later raised their two children, Jeffrey and Karen in Encino, California.

In the late 70’s, Gloria joined James R. Gary & Co. Ltd., and became a successful real estate agent for many years in the San Fernando Valley. During this time, Gloria flourished and made many lifelong personal and professional connections. She was involved with charitable events for City of Hope and American Cancer Society and became a founding member of the Valley Barons League of The American Cancer Society in the late 1980’s. She chaired many fundraising events for this cause that was near and dear to her and helped raise millions of dollars in her lifetime for Cancer research.

Gloria was known as the life of the party, and everyone always looked forward to an event at her house. She had a vast social life in Los Angeles and could always count on many friends to attend any event, show or outing with her. She lived a fast paced, fun, and great life, but after a series of unfortunate events culminating with the 1994 Northridge earthquake, she had decided it was time to make a change. She returned to her childhood hometown in Tacoma, Washington to spend time with her aging mother and aunt, and the rest of her family. She resided in Washington for the remainder of her life where she reconnected with childhood friends and family. In the past few years, she was lovingly cared for by her son, Jeff who helped her through a series of health concerns.

She is survived by her children Jeff (Lisa) Katzman and Karen (Adam) Friedman, grandchildren Julian Friedman, Liam Friedman, Ana Webster, Aleks Webster, and sister and brother-in-law Elaine (Roger) Croteau, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park at 6150 Mount Sinai Drive in Simi Valley, CA on January 22, 2023, at 2:30 pm.
