Gilbert Tobias Katz

Born:  Nov. 15, 1918, Los Angeles, CA

Died:  July 16, 2019, Santa Monica, CA

Dr. Gilbert T. Katz, a Los Angeles native, died peacefully of

Pneumonia, July 16, 2019, surrounded by family, sons, John M. Curtis and Robert E.

Curtis, daughter-in-law JCynthia McDermott, granddaughters,

Whitney and Morgan Curtis and grandson Joshua Curtis. He was also survived by

Grandson Austin J. Curtis and great granddaughter, Chloe R. Curtis.  Dr. Katz

Graduated Los Angeles High School 1936, UCLA 1940 and USC

Dental School 1943.  He was an Army captain in WWWII, married his

Wife Roselyn J. Abraham in 1944, returned to Los Angeles to practice Dentistry

for 66 year, retiring at age 94 as the oldest practicing dentist in

California.  He taught at the USC Dental School for 50 years.  Dr. Katz was an

avid sailor and charter member of Del Rey Yacht Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to USC Dental School.
