Mount Sinai Obituaries and Services » Dr. Jack Vandernoot
Vandernoot, Jack Lionel, M.D. Born June 15, 1939 in Los Angeles, California. He graduated with honors from UCLA. Jack attended University of California San Francisco Medical School, and practiced orthopaedic surgery on the Westside of Los Angeles for 25 years. Jack was a man of great intellect and loyalty who loved writing poetry and studying ancient Greek. He was an accomplished guitarist. He loved collecting hats, and antique maps, canes and medical books. He was a consummate professional physician who was beloved by his patients. His playfulness, evinced by his smiling eyes and warmth, was commensurate to his seriousness and devotion to achieving the most out of life. He leaves behind a legacy of truth, wisdom and humility, and will be terribly missed. There will be a profound void in our lives forever. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife Deanne, loving children Lesley and Andrew, and two beautiful granddaughters Ava and Lola. Private services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Parks.Donations in his name may be made at www.alz.org (search the Judy Fund).
