I can only hope that others have such a wonderful experience preparing for their B.. Mitzvahs as we did 38 years ago. Every week was a blast, and we still learned our whole Haftorah and four Torah portions each. Cantor Glick has always been in my heart and I will always fondly remember him.

Early in his career, Cantor Glick was a music teacher at a middle school in the South Bay. I was the accompanist in his choir class but more importantly, was the first bar mitzvah student he ever tutored. Before the era of cassettes (let alone CD's) he took the time to write out the trope for my parasha longhand on sheet music paper so I could practice on my piano at home between sessions with him. He was a great teacher and a wonderful human being.

Cantor Glick taught me the tropes for my haftorah rather than giving me a cassette tape to study and memorize the melody, trained me for my Bar Mitzvah at Temple Ner Tamid, and helped guide me through it and my years in Hebrew School, which came after public school and was not kids' favorite or chosen pastime after 4pm weekdays. Not only did Cantor Glick have a wonderful voice, but he was the epitome of a mensch who helped make the adolescent years of so many kids much more tolerable. May he rest in peace and his family be comforted.

I am so sorry for your loss.I have known Maurice for more years than I care to remember. Even though we were not close socially over the years I remember Maurice to be a kind and gentle person, a true mensch. Again my condolences. Samuel Shanman

Cantor Glick was a mensch. From Ner Tamid to Net Maarev he was an important part of our community. He. Presided over our daughters’ Bat Mitzvahs. May his memory be a blessing and our deepest condolences to Joanne and the family.
