Bill Selling, 91, of Arcadia, CA died in his home with family at his side. Bill was born to H. Monroe and Viola Selling, Saturday, January 21, 1928 in New York City and passed Saturday, June 29th, 2019. An alumnus of Cornell University, Bill went on to meet and marry Wilma Gerber of Springfield, MA on June 5, 1955. Soon after they married, Bill was recruited by Aerojet General in California where he worked for 37 years as an Aerospace Engineer. Bill and Wilma made a home in Arcadia, CA where they raised their two daughters, Lori and Sheri. Bill also opened his heart and his home to his oldest grandson, Arthur, and raised him for four years in a time of need. Bill lived a life of service and dedication to his family and community. He donated and volunteered his time to many charitable organizations, but by far the most prominent organization was the City of Hope where he served as a member, Treasurer and President of his local City of Hope chapter, Partners for Hope, raising thousands of dollars over many years. When Bill retired, he spent more time at The City of Hope campus in Duarte driving the parking lot tram. He also volunteered his time at The Huntington Library in San Marino, CA in the early mornings pulling weeds so the beautiful grounds were presentable to the public. Bill loved to golf, ride his bike and relax in his chair at the beach, but he had a particular passion for reading. Bill spent a good amount time at the Arcadia Public Library choosing about 3 novels each visit. Bill is survived by his Wife, Wilma, Sister, Jane Littwitz, Daughters Lori Miranda and Sheri Selling. Grandsons, Arthur Zamarron (Krissy), Stephen Maciel, Great Grandchildren, Bailey, Layla and Ryder along with many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries, Los Angeles, CA.
