Mount Sinai Obituaries and Services » Benson Wohl
April 3, 2012
Oct. 3, 1924 – March 29, 2012
Beloved husband of Leila. Father of Alan and Susan and Elizabeth (deceased), grandfather of Larissa and Alec, grandfatherly figure to Matt and Linden. Father of David and Terri, grandfather of Ashley, Shauna, Josh and Kimi. Dearest uncle of Traci and Beth. Ben died peacefully after a short bout with brain cancer.
Born in Poland, Ben came to America in 1930. Ben loved this country with all his heart and soul. During WWII, he was a proud survivor of the sinking of the HMT Rohna on Nov. 26, 1943. When he recovered from injuries, he was deployed to India where he continued his service until the end of WWII. After the war, Ben went to college under the G.I. Bill and eventually became C.P.A., a profession he truly love and continued to work in until Jan. 2012. Ben’s proudest moments were when his two sons became C.P.A.s and Josh and Kimi followed in his footsteps and joined the family firm.
The family is so grateful to have spent 87 healthy years sharing life and love with Ben and we will all cherish our memories of him.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 3 at 10 AM at Mount Sinai, Hollywood Hills. In Lieu of flowers please donate to a cancer charity of your choice.
