Barbara Ann (Sorkin) Bornstein of Simi Valley was born in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, on February 20, 1935, to Frank and Esther Sorkin. She moved to West Los Angeles at the age of seven and graduated from Dorsey High School. A few years later she met Neil Bornstein. They married in Los Angeles in 1959 and started a family. Barbara loved her family and was eager to spend time with and share memories with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling along the California coast, going to the movies and talking with friends at her favorite diner. She worked for many years as a receptionist in the Garment industry.

Barbara is survived by her three children: Jeff Bornstein and his wife Kimberly of Clarksville, TN; Lori LaFaille of Woodland Hills, CA; Lisa Brody and her husband Mike of Johns Island, SC. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Jason Bornstein, his wife Brooke, and their daughter Austin of Corona, CA; Brittany Jackson and her husband Tyler of Palm Desert, CA; Kyliegh Coia, her partner Danny Rosa, and their daughter Sophia, son Damien, daughter Melody and son Raiden of Camarillo, CA; Devon LaFaille of Simi Valley, CA; Daniel LaFaille of Simi Valley, CA. She was predeceased by her sister Rosalind Sklar and brother Robert Sorkin.

A service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 11, in the Tanach Chapel at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Dr., Los Angeles.
