Allan Orner passed away peacefully on June 29 at the age of 87. Born on May 3, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles and Anna Orner, Allan lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He was the eldest of three children (Sisters, Rita and Janet). Allan married his beloved Frieda on September 3, 1950. They were married for 55 years until Frieda passed in 2005. Allan was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, survived by his two daughters, Arline and Francine, son-in-laws Roger and Joel, as well as his four grandsons, Jonathan, Matthew, Brett and Kevin. Friends and family described him as a “Real Mensch. Wikipedia defines the Mensch as a person of character, rectitude, dignity and a sense of what is right. Allan was all of this and more. He was also a man with a huge heart and a goofy sense of humor. As has been said many times, he was a wonderful and doting husband, father and grandfather. Allan was ill for a very long time. Over the last few months, we watched him decline very quickly. Although he will be missed by all, we know that he is finally at peace with his beloved Frieda.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park at 11:30 am. 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, LA 90068.
