Alice Einhorn past away peacefully on February 25, 2016 at 1:40 a.m., at home with her family and puppies by her side; after recently celebrating her 90th birthday. She was born on January 13, 1926 to Richard and Bertie Hester in Oakdale Louisiana. She was fifth of eight children survived by Jeannette Yarbro and Alma Lampin, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alice grew up in Louisiana and graduated from State High School. She began to serve others while living with her aunt earning $15.00 a week she worked as a nurse in World War II. In the years to come she would work many jobs to care for her family, sometimes three at a time. Then she met the love of her life and her world changed. Everyone could see the love they shared by the way they looked at each other. Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband Leonard Irwin Einhorn; who loving referred to her as his “princess”, her daughter Donna Farren and Son James Roland Plake. She is survived by her son Gary Plake, and daughter in-law Trish Price and step son Gary Einhorn. She was a loving grandmother to Krystal Price, Arlee Farren, Lindsay Plake, Andrew Einhorn and Blake Einhorn. Her great grandchildren, who brought a smile, were Madisyn Rae Muldoon and Rosabella Liddi Einhorn.
Alice was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She always had a smile to share even through the toughest times. Her ability to find the good in everything and her witty comebacks would catch you off guard. She was such a strong beautiful soul who touched many lives by her selfless giving spirit. Sweet Alice as often referred to, gave of her time and love in everything she touched. She had an incredible Beautiful Heart.
Alice will be greatly missed and has left a forever imprint upon our hearts and lives.
