Adam Carmeli, 29, of San Diego, died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, December 30. He was born in October of 1988 in Santa Monica, the son of Cynthia Gates and Israel Carmeli. He attended the La Canada Flintridge schools and upon graduation, he went to the Marshall School of Business at USC in Los Angeles and graduated in 2011. During his tenure at USC, he spent a semester abroad at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Adam has been employed by Expeditors International for the past six years, most recently as Air Export Manager in the San Diego office.
Adam is survived by his mother Cynthia Gates and sister Lauren Carmeli of La Canada, his father Israel Carmeli of Encino, his maternal grandparents Donald and Barbara Gates of Skaneateles, New York, his uncles Eric, Dennis and Christopher Gates of New York and many cousins and family members both in the United States and Israel. He is pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents Peter and Bella Carmeli and his maternal aunt, Susan Sullivan Gates.
Our hearts are broken to know that Adam is no longer with us, but in this time we choose to share our fondest memories and would be honored for his loved ones to join us to remember Adam for the amazing man that he was. Services will be held Sunday, January 7th at 2:00 pm at Mount Sinai Memorial in Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Adam’s memory to the La Canada Flintridge Educational Foundation (website LCFEF.org).
